Trevor Buchmann
Hi, I’m Trevor Buchmann, a High Support Teacher at KLDCS. My wife is an administrator at the school, and all three of our children are students there as well. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege to work with some incredible students, many of whom have gone on to connect with Community Living. I know some of the students I’m teaching now will take that same path, and I’m glad to be part of their journey.
My personal connection to Community Living began when I was a teenager, working as a respite worker and at the former Children’s Residence. I’ve always felt a strong bond with this community, and now, as a member of the Board, I hope to help create meaningful pathways for students as they transition from the education system into adult services and supports offered by Community Living.

Michelle Lafreniere
Hello, My name is Michelle Lafreniere. I am one of the newest members of the Community
Living Kirkland Lakes Board of Directors.
Over the years my accomplishments varied in the Social Services field as a front line worker to
Management. My husband and I also are devoted to our local business which I still hold some
duties. During my lifetime I have always made it a point to volunteer and give back. My latest
accomplishment is 12 years experience on the Blanche River Health Board, including Chair of
the Board for 5 of those years. Volunteering has allowed me to accumulate significant skills in
Governance and non-Profit Boards.
My last employment was with Community living Kirkland Lake as a Supervisor for 10 years
ending in 2012. During this time I Supervised many programs and worked with a great number
of hard working and devoted Staff and Managers. I was approached to join the board in 2022
and it was an easy fit for me. Although this is a different capacity then what I was in, its great to
be back! The best part, is seeing the people that made the job most worthwhile!
